Free Concert

Where I hope to be on Monday night, if we can manage it: local radio station The River 102.3′s Back to School Concert featuring Brandon Heath and Eric Moore and Resonate.

I love Brandon Heath’s latest hit “Give Me Your Eyes” that’s in rotation now on one of the local contemporary Christian music stations. One of them, yes. We have a few here in Austin which is interesting to me. Orange County had a huge population of folks that might have generated enough advertising dollars for more than one CCM station, but I remember the days when one went out of business. Austin has a much smaller population but there are at least two CCM stations I know of (one is one of those that generate funds through pledges…not my cup of tea).

Back to the concert, then. I’ll let you know how it goes. It will be the first time, besides last years’ summer concerts for kids, that we will experience Austin’s reputation as the live music capital of the US.

    Sounds like fun. We just got back from Spirit West Coast…took 55 kids from church for summer camp. It was a blast. TobyMac ROCKED. Todd Agnew was amazing. So many good bands.

    Very cool to see you blogging! I am glad you like Austin and you all are fitting in there well.

    Thanks, T. I was blogging for a while but I dumped WP and went to Vox. I got the yen (ok, urge) to tweak again so here I am, back on WP. I have no idea how to restore my old posts since they’re backed up in Word (via copy/paste! ick! that was bec. of a host problem tho).

    I always wanted to go to the Live Music Capital of the World! We plan to go on our next visit there.

    Hi Kri, yep, I’m back. Mai was right, I couldn’t stay away for long from WP. I did look at the hosting packages on WordPress.org but ended up with Qoozz. It just doesn’t make sense to use the others when Q gives so much space and costs so little! Thanks for that recommendation. You’re a huge help :)

    I hope we make it tonight. It’s at Southpark Meadows (off I-35 going towards San Marcos) in their little outdoor ampitheater.

    LOL…it’s next Monday, so there’s a chance. Only one catch: the website doesn’t give a time for the concert to start.
