Your Soles, Your Way

If you ever wanted to have just the right sort of casual shoes to match your own shirt—by own I mean you made it on your own—then head to Zazzle. For $60 and up, depending on the styles, you can create your own custom graphics and have them print it on canvas sneakers. They have two different slip-on and one lace-up version to pick from. You can customize the canvas material, the colors of the binding, laces (if any) and grommets (if any). How cool is that? So, at one shop you can make your own matching tote, shirt and shoes. How fun would it be to make two pairs and then swap them so that the right and left shoes look slightly different? Kind of like some of the Camper shoe designs.
I’ve had a sweatshirt and t-shirt printed at Zazzle plus a poster (16″x20″) and everything came out really well. The t-shirt’s print has cracked a little with wear. They use American Apparel shirts so they were a bit small for a girly tee but it was still ok. I’m sure that the Keds they use for the shoes will stand up to wear and tear, too.
If you’re not into customization, you can always look up designs created by others. There are tons that are really neat. The shoes also come in kids’ sizes. Tip: I found out at Payless that a kids’ 4.5 is the same size as a women’s 6.5…that made me all kinds of happy. Hehe.
