Sad / Glad

Our local Michaels no longer carries Paton’s SWS yarn. I just bought the last six balls, Natural Natural is the color name, fortunately all the same dye lot. They might become a hat and scarf.
Also sad, I almost typed “carrys” instead of “carries” above. What on earth? I tell you…once I had dreams of becoming a spelling bee contestant. Those days are long gone.
We won’t see Edith & Larry until after the new year. After Friday, we won’t be seeing our church family for a couple of weeks.
I messed up on dates again and thought they had me down to do greeting today but it was next Sunday when we are gone. Dates and I don’t gel well.
We’ll miss the New Year’s game night at church on Dec. 31.
GLAD:
It was a wonderful message at church today. I also thought “Silent Night” was a tad off from reality, but I always was partial to it because I have memories of my grandma singing it to me in German.
One more scarf down…several presents to go. Just Enough Ruffles is a great pattern and I just have to remember to use a longer cable on my circs so that they don’t break.
I have more yarn for more gifts. Lord willing, I will be able to knit on the two-day drive to CA. Hopefully I can find a pattern that’s easy to memorize so I won’t have to look down and get car sick.
I got someone to back me up for Greeting Duty next Sunday.
We began our Christmas shopping tasks. Easier this year and the budget is smaller so there are more options to be creative. And that is so fun, you have no idea. By the way, Amazon.com, home of most people’s online wish lists, now has a browser button you can use to add things that aren’t on Amazon but are on other sites. How nice is that? I’ve made use of it already.
Someone asked me to make them a hat. I think I am off to enjoy that task. One can only knit so much stuff for oneself before one is begging other people for their sizes and an excuse to knit anything. I’m *squee* about this because I have the perfect yarn in my stash!
HAPPY SUNDAY!
