So far…
Cozy
Eight people in a little home makes for very cozy quarters. While I’m normally very claustrophobic, when it comes to home and family, physical closeness is a very good thing.
Comforting
God has been re-emphasizing the gravity and grace and goodness He has shown to me through the gift of His Son in these days we’ve been on vacation. My prayer is that I don’t ignore His future reminders.
Speaking of comforting: so far, we have eaten three times at the sushi place in the food court at the Irvine Spectrum. This is our family’s idea of comfort food! Mmmmmmmm!
Crafty
I’ve been so excited to have finished so many gifts. I’ve been praying for those who have/will receive each one. I’ve been reminded that it’s not about how great a job I can do, how awesome it feels to accomplish something, but that it’s something more: an opportunity to bless someone and time to pray.
Connecting
We’ve been so blessed to far to have had time to visit with old friends and family members that we don’t often see or even keep in touch with. It’s been one sweet visit after another. The Lord has relieved us of any stringent schedules and given us ample time and opportunity to spend, you know, quality time with people who mean a lot to us. You know, my hubby hasn’t gotten anything for me to put under the tree yet. But this trip has been such a great gift already.
Challenging
Our boys have both been sick with the same bug, one after the other. We parents haveĀ been fighting it and so far, so good. NM has it now and woke up coughing this morning. Praise the Lord our healer, he is in great spirits even though he’s tired from having a hard time breathing. Plus J is just about over it now.
While it was a challenge for a while there, now the boys are no longer talking so much about what they’re going to find under the tree. I’m not sure how that happened, but God certainly gets the credit!
