Stripey Scarf and Cinchy Hat

These were from an issue of Knitscene (winter 2007?). I’ve been wanting an excuse to make the hat and, for good measure, I decided to do the scarf as well.
I love the way the hat fits. I think it’s jaunty and jaunty is all good. Gifted to my SIL, Anna, who is the very definition of happy and jaunty. I hope she doesn’t let her dog eat them. Haha.
Knit in washing-machine friendly Caron Simply Soft. Grosgrain ribbon in black holds the cinchy bit together. If I make it again, I’ll be using a self-striping yarn!
