How Long Has It Been?

Funny but I am worrying that it’s been three days since my last post so here I am writing something so I can feel better about keeping up the blog.

I am still working on uploading vacation photos to Flickr. That’s been taking a while only because I’ve had a few projects to take care of and I have to upload when hubby isn’t playing online. That means I have to remember to take care of it before bed…hah! By then my brain is in shut-down mode so it’s amazing if I remember anything at all.

My SIL graciously gifted me with yarn for Christmas. I have three skeins of Caron Simply Soft tweed in a dark, dark rose color and some Lion Brand Homespun. The Simply Soft is going to be a February Lady Sweater when it grows up. If I hurry, maybe it can be a January Lady Sweater instead! I’m not sure if I’ll keep it or gift it, though. If you wear a size small or have a 32-34″ bust measurement, I might be nice and gift it to you if you ask nicely. Yes, I still feel self-conscious about making myself stuff!

I’m open to suggestions about what to make with the three skeins of Homespun. I’ve seen some things on Ravelry.com that look interesting, but not too compelling to me.It’s super smooshy, though, so maybe it wants to be a blanket or something like that.

My sister gave me a gift certificate to Elann.com and it’s making me crazy. I stare at all the yarn and can’t make up my mind what to get. I do have a sweater hubby wants me to make for myself but the yarn it calls for isn’t sold there. I don’t like buying without having something in mind otherwise it will just sit in a drawer (unless it’s Habu stainless steel yarn…that stuff is so cool I’ll take any quantity of that!).

The boys were asking for school to start while we were on vacation so they were happy to get back into it when we started this past Monday. What a relief! I never thought I’d get to enjoy hearing “Mom, can we start school yet?” I thought we’d only do reading this week but I ramped it all up pretty quickly. In spite of our colds—congestion can make a body really tired—they’ve been really good.

NM & J have both eagerly been playing with the gifts we go them. Of course, you think. But they weren’t the Legos the boys were clamoring for! NM got an electronic snap circuit kit he can use to build 300+ projects with and J got an Eyeclops digital microscope with its own screen. You can even take photos and video with it! The toys are so cool. I have lost track of what NM has built but I know he has done an alarm, a radio, a buzzer and most of the things that make noise. Unfortunately, somehow the Eyeclops is kaput but we’ll check it out in the next couple of days.

I had a nice, nice surprise yesterday. First, my cell phone made my whole desk vibrate. Needless to day, I don’t keep my cell near me often enough because I didn’t know what it was at first. I returned the call and found out it was Krisa! I’ve known her online for a while (yeesh…maybe 3 or 4 years?). She had moved to Mississippi last year but was down on vacation to see her in-laws and she gave me a ring to see if we could meet up. We did!

She’s prettier in person and I’m embarrassed to say I was shy around her and didn’t test out my Tagalog until just before we left (I don’t think I speak it nicely enough). But my J was too tired and clearly needed a nap because he walked backwards into a display counter. Even though it felt like a short visit, I did get to enjoy our chat and I met her hubby, Ryan (forgot to ask if he was playing WoW still) and I got to hold her little Jonathon! He’s so cute and I was happy he didn’t cry when I held him. She said he didn’t like being held by other people besides mum and dad, but he let me hold him for a teeny bit, twice. He was pretty generous with his smiles, though, his whole face lights up!

That’s nice that you guys got to meet up. Sana tayo rin!

Rudy just started playing WoW. I’ve thought many times that I’d like to start playing, but I don’t know if I’d have enough time (I need 8 hours of sleep everyday!). You play too right? It looks fun.

Hi Mai…ya, I still play but mostly Friday nights lang. Used to be an hour a night. Now and then I’ll still play during the week. But I do need some TV time after playing bec. I used to dream about the game if I didn’t. Funny, huh?
