Trust God’s Truth

Our women’s fellowship is currently going through a study called “Maybe God is Right After All” and the current chapter has to do with the radical truth that we need to trust God even when it doesn’t make sense.
I just came across this little gem that illustrates the concept in a concrete way. Here’s the verse, tucked in the Pentateuch:
Deu 32:13 “He made him ride in the heights of the earth, That he might eat the produce of the fields; He made him draw honey from the rock, And oil from the flinty rock;
When I was little I had read about the amazing amounts of oil that exists in oil shale, but there was no way to get it to a useful state. That was then.
Very recently, Shell Oil has come up with a feasible solution to getting the oil out of the rock and is currently working in Colorado to see if their system will work.
Can you imagine what Moses was thinking when he was writing this? Did he think getting oil from rocks make any sense? He trusted God’s instructions and wrote it down anyway. Now I’m wondering where in Israel the oily, flinty rock is.
