Ortho Day

My NM had to visit the orthodontist yesterday to be fitted for a lip bumper. It’s something similar to a retainer in the way it looks and can be removed, but instead its purpose is to keep his bottom lip from curling in too much when he swallows. According to the orthodontist, that’s what’s causing his bottom teeth to lean in rather than out. That should give his molars more room when they come in. He will still need to have braces eventually, though.

Poor guy, the fitting didn’t feel very good at all. The bumper is supposed to arrive in three weeks, so we’ll be heading back to get it installed at that point. For now, he just has tiny, blue rubber spacers to oggle when he brushes his teeth.

    I felt soooo bad for him! He was really hurt :(
