Pattern Design

Once, long, long ago, I used to have the benefit of Painter natural media software when it came to making patterns. You just draw, hold down the shift key and move the picture and the repeats would magically show up: voila! repeating pattern, perfectly aligned.

Apparently, I remember the instructions incorrectly and/or the software is so old that it just doesn’t work anymore.

I just came across instructions on how to make a perfectly-aligned repeating pattern via Design*Sponge. And this is how it was done, long, long, long ago before the age of computers and digital drawing tablets.
