Thankful Thursday

Right. Another Thursday post on a Friday. But I was thinking about it on Thursday!

~ For two boys who have been so good, thank You, Lord! Not only have they been so good, but our reading time (a.k.a. snuggle time) on the couch has been great because they’re really into the American Frontier period. We’re going through the book A Pioneer Sampler and they’re learning how people used to have to make maple sugar, learn the Rule of Three (algebra) and why, how log cabins are built. I’m thinking the boys should have coonskin caps and I might run to Michaels for that model fort they have.

~ For lists! Lord, thank You for helping me to be more disciplined in this regard. The weekly meal planning is making things easy and You’ve been giving me great ideas. NM has benefited, too, since we brought back a daily list of tasks. There’s something neat about being able to check of little boxes.

~ Thank You, Lord, for letting Jesse have a good, safe time overseas for work. He’s on a plane home now and everyone’s looking forward to seeing him.

~ Once again, Lord, you have blessed me with knitting time. Only this time you did one better: we got to hang out with EB and met a new friend B. I’m so impressed with folks who knit something and just go for it and see what happens. One of these days I might try that too when I get up the bravery. More than that, it was a blessing to have such fellowship time for both adults and kids. The trampoline is always fun!

~ For helping me mentally regroup regarding witnessing, thank You. You reminded me that my first mission field is inside of our home and our neighbors are right outside.

~ For my MIL’s birthday and retirement! I don’t know how anyone can take so much good stuff in one week. And a trip to Disneyland? What a week! Happy birthday Lola and happy, happy, happy retirement!

    Yes she did! Retirement party was last night or yesterday afternoon, I can’t remember which.
