Yes, We Can!

Perhaps I’m making up for not going to the Tax Day Tea Party at the capitol to hear Gov. Perry mention “secession” and make the media crazy. Yes, I will miss historic events just to get us to the church on time.

Maybe I am just protesting Big Agribusiness and the moolah they’re spending lately. Or maybe I saw J’s veggie garden and others’ posts about their gardens. Yeah, that’s it.

Today the boys and I got busy. We bought lumber at Lowes. Part of the plan was for NM to get some math work done but the gentleman over there was above-and-beyond helpful. He was probably wondering how I made it in my math classes when I couldn’t figure out 6×8 (err…calculators). He loaded our four 1x10x120 planks into the truck for us but no bungee cords which really freaked out the boys. We made it home ok.

So, yes, I did have safety glasses and gloves. I cut all the boards down and the boys carried them out to the back for me. I love the smell of sawn pine. Yes, I did have the words “respect the blade” going through my little mind.

We managed to put together two of the three boxes before the rain threatened to pour. Tomorrow, we’re hoping to complete the third, decide where they go, level the gravel in the planter, then figure out how much of the planting mixture they need and then plant! A friend has offered some of her seeds so we might go and check out her stash, too.

Pics some other time. My hands are a bit shakey still!
