POP! Paarti
Posted on | September 9, 2009 | 8 Comments
So a dear friend from church, JC, shared this video with me. She made Aarti’s popcorn and brought some to church last Wednesday. My, if I didn’t have manners I would have eaten the WHOLE bowl. You think I’m kidding, don’t you? Silly.
Perfect day to share this with you: my daddy used to pop popcorn for our birthday parties. He used to strip down to his undershirt, pull out his GIANT soup pot and make enough popcorn to fill a large, black garbage bag. Salty, buttery memories!

Oooh, looks good. And cute video!
I remember one time, I told daddy I was going to go watch a movie with my friend, so he made a HUGE HUGE batch of cheese (parmesan) popcorn. It was so good! The cinemas didn’t allow food inside that wasn’t from the cinema’s snack bar so we smuggled the popcorn in two backpacks! hahahahahah! It was so much easier to “smuggle” things in back then during the pre-9/11 days….
Oh, and we were only able to finish 1 1/2 bags of the popcorn. When we got home, we ate the rest – hahahah!

Super cute video. And the popcorn? YUM. I am so happy I have curry powder to try it out.
That’s funny about daddy!

I tried it but I did something wrong. I think I should have left the heat at high (lots of kernels not popped)and put the spices on at the end bec. they were kinda burned.

Aarti, the video is fun and the popcorn (when my friend made it) was sooo good! When I made it, I just burnt the spices and the house smelled like a log cabin in a forest fire for a few days. Next time I try it, I will add the spices after I pop the corn
