I Can’t Believe It

My “baby” turned 11. ELEVEN. 10+1. Double 1. I had a MOMent on Sunday when it happened. Here he was when he was my little man at all of nine months:
This was Sunday before we attacked his cake:

He requested the cake: yellow cake with lemon curd filling and white frosting. Thanks, Paula Deen, the cake was delish!
He told me he was happy how it ended up working out. First we scheduled his birthday party for the Sunday our family arrived. Then with their team doing so well, we canceled the party on account of their attendance in the regional championships. Then rain cancelled the tournament altogether! We had a little celebration amongst ourselves instead: mini-party #1. Yesterday, we had mini-party #2 with a few of his friends from church playing on the Xbox and just messing around and being boys.
It was a blessing to me for him to see the silver lining on the cloud! I hope to have more photos up soon. We are juggling computer hard drives and I’m having trouble getting Photoshop to behave on the other computer.
I love you, NM! With your soccer and your strong discernment and your soft heart and tenderness for Sprocket and the rest of you! You are truly a blessing from the Lord.

My eyes got a little teary reading this. I only have one child right now and she’ll be two on Dec 10. Planning her party gets me a little teary eyed because she’s no longer going to be my little baby. Nope! She now wants to run around the park with the big kids. My hubby laughs and says that she’s only 2 and that I should hold back some tears for when she’s 22 and getting married and moving away! haha

Seriously, I didn’t mean to make anyone cry. You’re the second person to tell me that. I cried, but I didn’t mean to, honest!
