awesome song. what lyrics! reminds me a bit of the clash or early bruce springsteen…
(to be honest, i don’t get the video – it’s WWII, 82nd airborne, german infantry, a french or belgian couple under fire?)

it’s a visual to represent war. as far as recent wars go, most people feel the same about WWII hence that as a backdrop. you don’t get the same, consistent feel when you talk about Vietnam or WWI for instance.
While we’re familiar with Stile Nacht (sp?), the night was really anything but silent and peaceful, politically Israel was occupied by a foreign power that wasn’t not appreciated by the Jews. The times and seasons that preceded the birth of the Messiah were also full of turmoil.
I’m guessing that’s the approach the artist was coming from.
