Cardinal Saga, Day Two
She came back to add to the nest yesterday.
Cardinals!
My NM came to me this morning very excited to let me know there’s a bird building a nest in the bushes right outside our front/school room window. Wow! (Sorry it’s blurry, it’s through a screen window) We are so excited you have no idea. At one point, I worried that I had scared her [...]
Mayfield Park
We didn’t get to do much this past week since the boys have been congested and we’ve had to deal with the tiredness that comes with that. But after church today, we headed out to Mayfield Park to take photos of the peacocks (and peahens…no one ever remembers the peahens…). Besides peacocks, flowers: But, really, [...]
Pioneer Farms
This past Friday was the highlight of our week off. Well, it is pretty hard to pick a high light. It’s more accurate to say this was just one of many highlights. And you know what? I’m tired of checking the “homeschool” category box for things that happen during the week only. The rest of [...]
First trip to Jumpy Gym/Mary Moore Searight Park
We’d never really been to a place like this except maybe once when J was a baby and NM was invited to a friend’s birthday party. A warehouse full of different jump houses? Right up my boys’ alley! Can’t tell, can you? We were with some of our friends from church so the boys had [...]
Lots to blog, but in the mean time…
…our J has a cold. You know the kind that makes it hard to sleep? That I-can’t-breathe-and-don’t-like-to-breathe-through-my-mouth kind. No church for he and I tomorrow. We missed a chance to visit the zoo today but that was mostly due to weather. Instead we stayed inside and played with the camera. Always a silver lining!
Our Hike at Mary Moore Searight Park
This past Sunday, we finally had an opportunity to take Abba to see Mary Moore Searight Park which we last visited in January. The weather was beautiful so we just had to take advantage of it. J remembered to bring his field guide with him, so we enjoyed learning about the creatures we spotted. Hubby [...]
Having fun for science’s sake
Yesterday we opted to go ahead and open up our solar power science kit and let J have a go at it. He built a solar-powered engine that made a little sprocket turn! You have no idea how often it made him giggle to hear that that green thingie is a sprocket. Today, the boys [...]
For the mamas
Every once in a while, the Lord will bring me to a scripture that just fits with what I need to hear. I’m sure it happens more than just “every once in a while” but I only pay attention that often. My loss! Some days as a homeschooling mom are just difficult. Who am I [...]
Strawberry Love
This is for Karen, who has the same exact bowl as I do but has prettier strawberries. That, and more light.
